Thank you to all who have contributed!
In November 2019, as part of the consultation for the Deptford Parks Liveable Neighbourhood (DPLN) project, we asked for your comments on proposals at five locations: Rolt Street, Scawen Road, Prince Street, Woodpecker Road and Canal Approach Greenway. Those proposals were developed through face-to-face and online community engagement which took place during 2018/19. All proposals received a good level of support ranging from 62% to 85%. A further breakdown can be found here:

The borough has already delivered a number of ‘quick wins’ which didn’t require further consultation or significant design work, most of which were funded through the 2019/20 DPLN programme.
Unfortunately, as a result of funding pressures arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, all boroughs have since received reductions in their funding allocations from TfL. This means that we are not currently able to proceed with the scheme as originally consulted upon. However, a reduced budget has been made available by TfL, and this year we will be focusing on delivering a number of key features of the scheme. Those elements that do the most for making it safer and easier to walk and cycle locally, while also being affordable and deliverable quickly, have been prioritised. To find out more about the interim plans that are scheduled to be delivered in summer 2021, please click the below links:
• Woodpecker Walk: re-surfacing the main pedestrian and cycling path https://deptfordparksproposals.commonplace.is/proposals/woodpecker-walk
• Rolt Street: installation of a pedestrian and cycle zone https://deptfordparksproposals.commonplace.is/proposals/rolt-street-pedestrianisation-trial
• Scawen Road: making the trial scheme permanent https://deptfordparksproposals.commonplace.is/proposals/scawen-road
• Prince Street: making the trial scheme permanent https://deptfordparksproposals.commonplace.is/proposals/prince-street
We will continue discussions with TfL to understand the potential availability of further funding to bring forward other elements of the scheme in due course. To find out more about the overall vision for the DPLN project, please click here:
