Warm welcomes at Facework

Facework CIC is a social enterprise that helps people to build skills and find work. From their warm, cosy spaces, they offer events, training, a maker space, and a supportive co-working community.

Home to a variety of programmes and workshops, the space is welcome to anyone in need of connection. You'll find non-profit founders, sanctuary seekers, older people, and parents of SEN children visiting their hub in New Cross Gate. It's become a welcoming sanctuary for locals to share resources, meet new friends, and work together.

With support from the Community Energy Fund, Facework insulated their buildings and installed LED lighting. This has made their workspaces warmer, brighter and more energy efficient. Lower energy use has cut their bills, allowing them to put more money into training and support programmes for local people. They were also able to create job opportunities by employing local people to do the building works.

For Facework, climate action looks like cutting emissions and saving money on energy, whilst taking local people with them on the journey. It's also about creating warm community hubs that people feel comfortable, safe, and can thrive in. By improving their building, Facework are making both their spaces, and the people using them, better equipped for the future.
