Lewisham Town Centre
Lewisham High Street
We are revitalising the high street to make it a cleaner, greener, and safer space for residents, businesses and visitors to enjoy!
Plans for the high street include:
- Two new pocket parks (small, green, outdoor spaces for the community). One at Limes Grove (next to the library) and the other at Plough Bridge (near the Premier Inn)
- Two new mobility hubs (spaces to switch from one type of transport to another). They might include bike storage services.
- Better lighting and CCTV
- Better drainage systems
- New trees and plants
- Improved pedestrian crossings, cycle lanes and signs
- Space for outdoor dining.
We want you to tell us:
- What would you like to see in the new pocket parks? (i.e. more outdoor seating, more trees / plants, play facilities)
- How could we improve safety and accessibility through the designs? (i.e. more lighting, better quality pavements, cleaner streets)
- How could we further incorporate Lewisham’s identity, community, and culture into the designs? (i.e. community art / history projects)
