Complementary Measures
Read about the complementary measures we're proposing across the area to create a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live.
St John's and Tanners Hill
School Streets
A School Street is closed off to motor vehicle traffic at drop off and pick up times during school terms, to make it easier and safer for children to get to and from school.
We are proposing new school streets in the following locations:
- Admiral Street
- Strickland Street
- Albyn Road, between Friendly Street and St John's Vale

New and Improved Crossings
Crossing points make crossing roads safer and easier for pedestrians and cyclists and by extension, for drivers. The following suggested improvements are subject to further discussion with TfL, who manage these roads. We are keen to understand your views, before we make the case for investment here.
Traffic Calming
We're proposing new traffic calming measures, which can include speed bumps or speed cushion, in the following locations:
Amersham Road - Subject to consultation with TfL
- between New Cross Road and Parkfield Road
- towards the junction with Lewisham Way
Florence Road
- between Heald Street and Alpha Road
- between Alpha Road and Lewisham Way
Brookmill Road
- between Seager Place and Friendly Street
- between Elverson Road and Albyn Road
