Developing Multi-Unit Housing: Duplexes and Triplexes in Los Altos Hills

Recent California state legislation has streamlined the process of developing existing housing stock into two and three-unit complexes. Redeveloping existing housing in this way increases the number of availbale units while minimally impacting the surrounding neighborhood. As the Town works towards meeting its overall targets for new housing units by 2031. Duplex and triplex development can be a low-impact way to increase rental opportunities on your property. The Town is in the process of developing standards which will help to streamline the development of these unit types while preserving the neighborhood character which Los Altos Hills in known for.
