Macclesfield Park Master Plan
As champions of community development and wellbeing, we have recently embarked on an exciting endeavor—the "Macclesfield Park Master Plan". This initiative comes on the heels of the recently adopted Parks and Recreation Play for All Master Plan that recognizes the need for the rehabilitation of Macclesfield Park. Addressing the high traffic, congestion, and overuse in Macclesfield Park, the intent is clear: to analyze and tackle the issues while working towards a future that harmoniously meets the needs of our sports groups and the community.
In response to the surge in park usage and increased demand for space, it has become crucial to reassess and optimize the park’s utilization and layout. With the aid of Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc. (JMT), chosen by the Board of Supervisors for their expertise, the intention is to devise an optimal layout inclusive of site capacity, proper parking, circulation, ball field revitalization, and support facilities. This will cater to various user groups, neighbors, and park-goers, enhancing their overall park experience.
Emphasizing public input, this project will go hand-in-hand with community involvement. Your views, expectations, and ideas will be instrumental in shaping the Macclesfield Park Master Plan, which is set to revamp the park and cater to sports leagues, ball field needs, and independent use. Together, we can make Macclesfield Park a model of effective functionality and communal unity.
We understand that the success of this project hinges on community participation, resulting in solutions that cater to both league requirements and community needs. Your involvement and inputs will significantly contribute to our decision-making process as we aim to maximize the site capacity for ball fields, parking, and circulation, creating a space that is highly functional not only during organized sports events but also during non-organized hours. Together, we can make Macclesfield Park a welcoming, joyous space for all. Your engagement in this significant project will not only influence its success but also strengthen the bonds that make our community unique and vibrant.
