Data centers, cryptocurrency mining operations, and similar emerging facility types represent a new and evolving category of land use — one that carries significant potential impacts and community considerations not currently addressed within the McMinnville Zoning Code.
In response to a potential proposal, the City has enacted an eighteen (18) month moratorium while staff undertakes a thorough review process. During this period, City staff will work both internally and in collaboration with the public to evaluate potential regulatory frameworks appropriate for these high-impact uses.
This project board serves as a centralized resource for all involved parties — providing straightforward access to project updates, relevant materials, and opportunities for public engagement as this process moves forward.
