Potter Ln. Project
Project Overview: New Park Development at 206 and 208 Potter Ln.
Located along 206 and 208 Potter Ln., this project spans 2 acres and will lead to the construction of a new park designed to serve multiple purposes for the citizens of McMinnville and Warren County.
Stormwater Management Features
The park will act as a stormwater management area, incorporating several control measures, including:
• Detention Pond
• Rain Gardens
• Wetland Gardens
• Permeable Parking Area
These features will ensure water is absorbed and detained on the property before moving downstream, thereby preventing issues that have previously affected residents and business owners.
Educational and Recreational Amenities
In addition to stormwater control, the park will feature:
- Educational Placards: Informative signs explaining the stormwater management features and their roles.
- Walking Path: A scenic trail for exercise and learning.
- Community Orchard and Garden
The final component of this project is the Community Orchard and Garden:
- Community Orchard: 100 locally grown fruit trees, including apples, peaches, pears, and plums, will be planted in the uppermost area of the park.
- Community Garden: 10 raised planters for vegetables.
All fruits and vegetables grown in the park will be freely accessible to the community.
Funding
This project is funded by grants from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, totaling $542,750, with an additional $39,250 match for both grants.
