Park Theater Mural/Selfie Wall Project
We're thrilled to present an exciting opportunity brought by the City of McMinnville to foster local arts and culture: the creation of the Dottie West Selfie Wall at the Park Theater. Tied into the philosophy of public art being a visual narrative of the community, this project is rooted in nurturing local pride and showcasing the rich musical heritage linked to our beloved Dottie West.
Dottie West will be the subject of this piece. McMinnville was her hometown and where she got her start in music. In addition to her career as an American country singer and songwriter, she also had several credits as an actress. A distinguished figure in the country genre, Dottie was among several people who helped to elevate the platform of female country artists. She was also known for mentoring up-and-coming artists and being the first woman to win a country music accolade from the Grammy Awards
Through a potential art grant, McMinnville is embarking on a journey to blend traditional public spaces with innovative, artistic expressions that resonate with all citizens. Your voice and input matter in this transformative phase, as public engagement stands at the heart of our decision-making process. We assure you that all contributions will play a pivotal role in shaping the final façade of the Selfie Wall, echoing the vibrant spirit of our community.
Opportunities to Engage

Park Theater Selfie Wall
The proposed project would bring a 14' x 14' selfie wall to the eastern side of the Park Theater. The selfie wall will feature an image of McMinnville native Dottie West along with a well known quote/lyric from the famed artist.
