FY25 Budget

The forthcoming fiscal year brings with it, much like its predecessors, a host of complex fiscal challenges that the City must navigate. From the lingering impact of lost revenue as a result of the flood, to adjustments in the grand list due to reappraisal and the overarching influence of rising inflation, the circumstances require us to devise a budget that keeps us economically viable in trying times. Some of these issues are within our jurisdiction to address, while others, such as inflation that affects our expenses for critical elements like contractors, equipment, and service-related elements, are beyond our control.

As we embark on this journey of budgeting for FY25, we are keenly aware that our fiscal responsibilities include not just managing the impact of these financial challenges, but also planning for future challenges. Knowing that the purchasing power of our dollar has declined, we aim to make strategic fiscal decisions that not only maintain our operational capabilities, but also prioritize our commitment to providing essential public services. Creating an encompassing plan that takes into account these multiple facets is central to our approach this budget season.
