
• At their meeting on Sept. 10, the City Council set the salary range as $140,000-$170,000.
• Public engagement was noted as a renewed focus area, and Pracademic Partners provided the Council with separate thoughts on that.
• The survey is active through 09/19 and has generated interest. The dates for the two public forums were set. The first will be a virtual session held through Zoom, which will take place on Wednesday, October 15th, in the evening. The second will be held in person on Saturday, October 18th, at a location to be determined.
• With the salary information solidified, recruitment is now able to commence officially. While the soft launch announcement will trickle over the weekend of September 12th, the comprehensive go-live date is Monday, September 15th, with an application/expression of interest due date of October 10th.
• Language providing notice to applicants about the expectations on public engagement (forum, meetings, etc) with finalists has been included in the recruitment materials.
• The placement plan has been developed. Among other outlets, the brochure will be placed with ICMA, LinkedIn, state associations like VLCT, Vermont Town and City Management Association, other public sector groups, other professional associations, MPA alumni programs in the area, and those affiliated with Pracademic Partners, contacts with the National Forum for Black Public Administrators/the Local Government Hispanic Network/the International Network of Asian Pacific Islander Public Administrators, the new association SheLeadsGov, New England ICMA Chapters, the Pracademic Partners website, and so forth. We are spreading the word and casting a wide/diverse/inclusive net.
• A search process timeline has also been developed, and key dates/ranges with plans for each step will be incorporated into the project website. These dates may change based on Council feedback.
