About the Project

The State & Main Street Reconstruction Project, also called the East State Street Reconstruction project, is currently underway! Infrastructure upgrades scheduled for Downtown Montpelier include new water/sewer/storm infrastructure, new sidewalks, and necessary road reconstruction. Due to the large scope, this project has been constructed and bid in two contracts.

Contract 1 - "State and Main St Stormwater Improvements" - Construction beginning March 2025, project area from Rialto Bridge to Main/State intersection. Hebert Excavation has been contracted to complete the work.

Contract 2 - "East State St Reconstruction Phase 2" - Construction anticipated 2026, project area from Main/East State St intersection to College St.
