Tips for the Short-Term Rental Community Workshop TONIGHT at Muskegon Public Schools Auditorium.

Hello Neighbors,

We are excited to continue the conversation regarding short-term rentals here in the City of Muskegon. Here are a few tips to make tonight successful.

  • Please enter Muskegon High School off of the Southern Ave entrance. The auditorium is directly inside the Southern Ave doors.
  • We have intentionally printed a limited number of material for today's event in order to reduce paper waste. All materials are available online at mkgcity.com/str. Please bring your smart phone or other device to follow along if you'd like.
  • You can login to the school's guest wifi with the password: choosemps

Roughly 45 minutes into tonight's meeting we will be opening the floor to hear from you! To ensure that everyone gets an opportunity to speak we will be following the below guidelines.

Guidelines:

  • Two minutes or less per participant
  • One comment period per person (until everyone has had a chance to speak)
  • Please form a line in the aisles to speak
  • Must use the microphone
  • Comments are being taken down and will be published
  • Last question will be taken at 6:45 PM
  • Be respectful and solution minded

We look forward to seeing everyone tonight. A note from Mayor Johnson, "The City Commission is in the process of re-evaluating current STR policy and considering changes to regulations. In doing so, we decided to take a community-first approach. So, rather than crafting new policy and bringing it to a commission meeting for deliberation and a vote, we decided to start with community engagement on the topic. YOUR feedback will help inform our team of elected and employed officials as we move forward with policy making on short-term rentals."
