Light Up The Lakeshore: County-Wide Holiday Light Competition
Light Up Muskegon County's Lakeshore!
The City of Muskegon Parks & Recreation team is hosting a county-wide holiday lights competition to celebrate holiday spirit and community creativity.
Transform your yard or home exterior into a dazzling holiday display for your chance to win:
🎁 A $1,000 Barry’s Greenhouse
gift certificate (thank you to Barry’s Greenhouse for their generous donation!)
🏡 A celebratory yard sign
💻 A featured spotlight on the City of Muskegon’s website
The winner will be decided by public vote through the form on this page. Voters can explore participating displays on our interactive map and choose their favorite! Participants are encouraged to share the voting link to rally support for their creations.
Contest Rules
- Open to residential homes within Muskegon County only.
- Participants must register by submitting the online form by Monday, December 1, 2025 (11:59 PM).
- Decorations must be visible from the roadway.
- Displays must be lit nightly from December 5–15, 2025, between 6:00–10:00 PM for judging.
- The winner will be announced Thursday, December 18, 2025. See below for the winner announcement!

- Make sure your decorations are up and shining by December 5!

Public Voting
Voting is open to everyone from Friday, December 5 through Monday, December 15, 2025.
The winner will be announced Thursday, December 18, 2025.
