Seyferth SKATE Park Replacement

The Parks & Recreation team scheduled the removal of the skate park equipment at Seyferth Park for early summer 2023. With resident input in spring of 2024, specifically from the skateboarding community, a DIY Community Group came together to give the skate park some TLC.

The volunteer group has removed the old remnants of the skate park, cleaned up the area, the stormdrain was cleaned and is now functional again. Spring of 2025 the plan is to get concrete trucks to the park to pour several ramps and skate structures. If you're interested in getting involved reach out to DPW at 231-724-4100 and ask for the Parks & Recreation Department.

Background: As part of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan, parks across the city will be seeing upgrades. Seyferth Park is currently home to the only remaining skate park equipment in the City of Muskegon, however the equipment is in disrepair. In order to restore Seyferth Park as a recreation hot spot, we are asking residents for feasible options to replace the skate park equipment. We will be hosting an open house engagement for residents to come and select or write down what YOU want to see replace the skate equipment!
