The entity which operates and maintains the South Breakwater Lighthouse is set to begin restoration of this structure. Beginning in late-September, contractors for the Michigan Lighthouse Conservancy (MLC) are expected to start this work and be completed by the end of October. The structure will remain in place as the restoration occurs.
MLC is working with Kindred Marketing, based in Muskegon, to help coordinate local marketing and fundraising efforts.
