Oct 22, 2024 Commission Meeting Recap Regarding STRs

The City Commission approved the second reading of both the Short-Term Rental Definition and the Short-Term Rental Ordinance.

What happens next?
A "Notice of Adoption" will be published on October 29, 2024.
Once the notice is posted, the ordinance will officially take effect ten days later, on Friday, November 8, 2024. which means:

• The STR moratorium will end.
• Census tracts below the 4% cap will be accept applications for new STR licenses.
• Existing STRs in census tracts over the 4% cap may transfer their license one time upon sale of the property.
