In 2026, MDOT will rebuild more than 2 miles of M-46 (Apple Ave) from Muskegon Avenue to Home Street. As part of the overall project, Root Memorial Park will be closed during construction to accommodate the proposed intersection modifications at the M-46/First Steet intersection.

Public input is being sought to help recognize and address any concerns regarding the temporary closure and proposed changes in additional greenspace to Root Memorial Park after construction.
