Shoreline Trails and Greenways Plan
What is the Shoreline Trails and Greenways (STAG) Plan?
STAG is a plan to connect trails along the shoreline for people to walk, bike, or run. The project is about finding ways to connect trails that already exist and adding new paths to help people get to fun places like parks and the beach, as well as everyday places like stores and work. We need your help to show where you would like to walk, ride, or run in your neighborhood. Your ideas are important to help decide what the trails and paths will look like.
This project is complete! View the finalized plan under the supporting documents section below.
What are trails?
Trails – Off-street paved pathways that people use for non-motorized transportation and recreation. Trails connect people to places, including parks, employment centers, shopping districts, and natural features.
Why Now?
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the City of Muskegon, Muskegon County Bicycling Coalition, and Muskegon County have provided funding. Finishing the plan now will help us decide which trail connections are most important and will make it easier to get money for building the trails.
