Kruse Park Playground Removal Notice
🛝Kruse Park Playground Removal Notice
We want to inform everyone that the two playground structures at Kruse Park that have “head and neck entrapment risks” will be removed in late March or early April.
After a recent assessment, it has been determined that the two playground structures no longer meet playground standards and pose potential risks to users. The life expectancy of a play structure is 20-25 years and these structures are over 30 years old. The swings and spring structures will remain as they are not out of compliance.
We understand the importance of outdoor recreation spaces in our community. We are actively exploring options for replacing the playground with newer, safer recreation equipment. In the meantime, we encourage residents to explore other nearby parks and playgrounds for recreational activities.
A new playground will be considered through the Kruse Park Master Plan process. If you have any questions contact the Parks & Recreation team at 231-724-4100.
