Master Land Use Plan Update
**The City of Muskegon's Master Land Use Plan was adopted after several years of engagements on September 12, 2023. **
With an effort beginning in 2019, the City of Muskegon Planning Department has been working on a comprehensive rewrite of the Master Land Use Plan, and has hosted a series of public workshops that focus on key sections of the plan. Even as staff time has been limited, and no public workshops were held in 2020 because of the COVID pandemic, the City has hosted many opportunities for public engagement.
27 engagement events were hosted by the City of Muskegon, with each held at various community hubs throughout the city to give residents an opportunity to communicate with the City’s Planning Department staff, as well as with our Mayor and City Commissioners. Much of the project information shared prior to the City Commission's approval of the 63-day project review period is available online at: https://muskegon-mi.gov/city-services/development-services/planning/current-projects/master-land-use-plan-update/
