Nantucket Strategic Retreat and Relocation Program
Thank you to everyone who participated in the morning and evening virtual workshops on April 16, 2026 for the Nantucket Strategic Retreat and Relocation Program. Your input will help inform a transparent, island-wide planning effort to address the long-term impacts of sea level rise, erosion, and coastal flooding on critical infrastructure and homes.
During these initial sessions, the project team introduced the program, shared preliminary maps of vulnerable areas, and gathered feedback through live polling and small-group discussions. This marks the beginning of a broader community conversation about how Nantucket can adapt while protecting its historic character.
