Nantucket County Commissioners, acting as the County of Nantucket, will hold a Public Hearing on July 22, 2026 at 5:30 PM to consider the taking of temporary and permanent easements necessary for the construction of the Tom Nevers Multi-use Path.

In addition, NP&EDC Transportation Program Manager Mike Burns, Public Works Director Drew Patnode, and Town Real Estate Manager Tracy MacDonald will hold a public forum for abutters whose properties may be affected.

    The public meeting will include a brief presentation and Q&A session.

The proposed easements and taking will include any trees, landscaping or other obstructions existing in the existing County layout which are required to support the layout, construction, and long term maintenance of the new multi use path intended to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety and connectivity in the Tom Nevers area.

Plans and Layout Materials:
A draft plan entitled “Multi-use Easement Plan for Tom Nevers Road, Nantucket, Mass 02554, dated May 11, 2026, prepared by Blackwell & Associates, Inc. showing the proposed easement areas and the layout of the Tom Nevers Multi-use Path are available for public review on the Town’s dedicated webpage to this project.
