The award is from Inland Dredging Pilot Round, a part of the Massachusetts Dredging Program and is managed though the Massachusetts State Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED).
Nantucket has been awarded a grant of one million dollars ($1M) to aid in the dredging of Miacomet Pond. The award is from Inland Dredging Pilot Round, a part of the Massachusetts Dredging Program and is managed though the Massachusetts State Executive Office of Economic Development (EOED). The Natural Resources Department & Land Bank, with the team from Geosyntec and the Horsley Witten Group, are currently undertaking the planning and permitting for the dredging to improve water quality and recreation in Miacomet Pond.
This was a competitive grant cycle with a fund of $4M available and EOED received $14M in grant requests. Nantucket was fortunate to receive a quarter of the state wide funding. Our thanks to EOED.
