Milestone Road and Polpis Road Intersection Improvements

The purpose of this MassDOT project is to improve intersection operations and safety at Milestone Road at Polpis Road in Nantucket, MA, through the design and construction of a new intersection configuration. The project will also include the construction of a shared-use-path on the northside of Milestone Road between Monomoy Road and the existing Polpis Bike Path for a distance of approximately 1,600 ft. The project will make geometric changes to the Polpis Road approach to improve safety and accessibility for all users while providing an extension of the shared use path through the intersection on the northside of Milestone Road.
