Following Town Meeting and election approval, the Habormaster building design team continues to develop the project documents in preparation to issue a bid in the coming weeks for construction.

Project Approved by Town Meeting and Annual Town Election Voters

The Harbormaster Building project has received the required approvals at the 2026 Annual Town Meeting and the May 19, 2026 Annual Town Election.

Next Steps

Following Town Meeting and election approval, the Habormaster building design team continues to develop the project documents in preparation to issue a bid in the coming weeks for construction. The Team is also working to refine the design and gain approval from the HDC for the changes made since the original 2019 design.

Harbormaster

The Police Department Harbormaster Division provides critical public safety, search and rescue, marine environmental protection, and waterway management services for Nantucket Harbor and surrounding waters. The new building will support these essential operations and provide improved facilities for staff, equipment, and year-round harbor services.
