Will the new OIH offer the same services?
Yes, the new OIH will continue to offer a range of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services for patients requiring post-acute care form inpatient hospitals. Currently, OIH is licensed for Level II and III* care, the new OIH will carry those same licenses. In addition to post-acute and short-term rehabilitation services, OIH will continue to provide long-term chronic care for those patients who are too ill to return home.

• Level II (Skilled Nursing Facilities) refers to a facility that provides continuous skilled nursing care and provides restorative and other therapeutic services in addition to basic care.
• Level III (Supportive Nursing Care) refers to a facility that provides routine and skilled nursing services, restorative and other therapeutic services. This level of care is for residents whose condition has stabilized and only requires some nursing care, supervision and observation.

Will there still be rooms for short-term rehab?
Yes, and we anticipate the short-term rehab census to increase due to the single room configuration, with private showers in all rooms.

Will there be a hospice room?
Yes, and it will be equipped with space for family and visitors to stay with their loved one.

Will the residents still have to share a room and bathroom?
No, the new facility is designed with all single-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms and showers in every room.

What will be the staffing requirements of the proposed new OIH facility?
It is not expected that the staffing requirements of the proposed new OIH facility will be materially different from current staffing levels. The Town has invested considerable time and effort into recruitment and retention strategies and OIH staffing levels have been reasonably consistent over time.
