To assess subsurface conditions for the Somerset Needs Area Sewer Extension Project, Weston & Sampson, the Town’s engineering consultant, will begin exploratory soil borings on Monday, March 10.
The work is expected to continue for approximately three weeks, weather permitting.
Project Details:
- Location: Roadways affected include Bartlett Road, Raceway Drive, Somerset Lane, Somerset Road, and West Miacomet Road.
- Work Process: A truck-mounted drill rig will conduct test borings every 300 to 400 feet along the roads. Each borehole, approximately 6 inches in diameter, will be backfilled and the ground surface restored upon completion.
- Traffic Impact: Residents may experience short-term traffic disruptions. However, roads will remain open, and the work is being coordinated with police, fire, schools, and emergency services to minimize impacts.
- Project Team: Weston & Sampson will oversee the work, with Northern Drill Service performing the borings. A Weston & Sampson representative will be on-site throughout the process.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete this important phase of the project.
