Sea Street Pump Station Force Main No.3 Project Update
Surfside Road, South Shore Road and Line Striping
The Town is nearly complete with the Sea Street Pump Station Sewer Force Main No.3 project, which included the installation of a new sewer force main that connects the Sea Street Pump Station (SSPS) to the Surfside Wastewater Treatment Facility (SSWTF). The project also included upgrades to water, sewer, localized stormwater, and other utilities along the Town-approved sewer force main route.
The next phase of construction includes the following activities:
- Installation of final top course paving on South Shore Road (Week of 11/3-11/7)
- Installation of final top course paving on Surfside Road (Week of 11/10-11/14)
- Installation of permanent line striping along the entire project route (Sea Street, Step Lane, Centre Street, Lily Street, Liberty Street, Pine Street, Pleasant Street, Atlantic Avenue, Surfside Road, and South Shore Road) (11/15 and 11/16).
This work will take place between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, except for work on Surfside Road, which will begin at 8:30 AM. All paving work is weather-dependent and adjustments to the schedule may be made to accommodate inclement weather conditions.
During construction, these streets will either be closed to through traffic or operate under a one-lane alternating pattern. Local detours and roadway shutdowns will be implemented during work hours, and the road will be re-opened at the end of each workday. Police detail officers and/or flaggers along with the construction crew will make every effort to accommodate and assist residents in accessing their homes.
