Sewer Force Main Construction Update

The Town of Nantucket is currently performing final critical sewer force main work along Pine Street, Silver Street, Atlantic Avenue, and Pleasant Street. This project is part of the 3rd Sewer Main Force Project and is essential to improving the reliability and safety of our wastewater infrastructure.

We understand that some nearby residents and side streets may not have received direct notification. We want to ensure everyone is aware of the project scope, timeline, and potential impacts.

What to Expect
• Construction Hours: Weekdays, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (no work anticipated on weekends unless otherwise communicated).
• Traffic Impacts: Expect temporary detours, lane restrictions, and brief delays. Police details will be on-site to assist with traffic flow.
• Noise & Vibration: Normal construction noise and some vibration from equipment should be anticipated during work hours.
• Access to Properties: Driveway and sidewalk access will be maintained as much as possible. Please allow extra time traveling through the work zone.

Side Street Residents
If you live on connecting or nearby side streets, please note you may also experience temporary traffic adjustments or utility disruptions during this work. Our crews will provide on-the-ground updates as conditions change.
