Where We Are: Review the Existing Conditions and Engagement Summary

Highlights from the Project's First Phase

Thank you to everyone who stopped by a campus pop-up, shared a story, or completed the online survey during spring 2025—your input helped make the first phase of the Pedestrian and Roadway Campus Safety Initiative a success.

We’ve now released two key resources:

  • The Existing Conditions Report, offering a detailed look at current transportation, conditions, opportunities, and challenges around the Illinois State University campus.

  • The Engagement Summary, highlighting what we heard from students, faculty, staff, and Normal residents through engagement and outreach this past spring.

Explore the reports at normalil.gov/CampusSafety.

Next Up:
This summer, we’re brainstorming quick-build pilot projects to test out transportation safety improvements around the campus area. These pilots will launch in the fall, with more chances for you to get involved and share feedback.

Thank you for helping shape a safer, more connected campus!
