What are the project limits?
The proposed trail will connect to the existing sidewalk on the west side of Parkside Road and extend easterly along the north side of Gregory Streeet to connect to the existing trail on the east side of Adelaide Street.

What is the total cost of the project?
The preliminary cost estimate for the project is $1.2 million. This estimate will be refined as the project specifics are developed.

How will the project be funded?
The Town of Normal received an Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) grant that is providing $1.2 million for this project. Any costs over that amount will be paid for with Motor Fuel Tax allotted to the Town annually.

When will construction start?
Construction work is anticipated to start in Summer 2024.

How long will construction last?
Project construction is anticipated from early Summer 2024 to late Fall 2024.

Will parking along Gregory Street be affected?
On street parking will not be changed along the south side of Gregory Street from Parkside Road to Cottage Avenue. Parking will be maintained as much as possible along the north side of Gregory Street from Cottage Avenue to the golf course parking with some modifications necessary to accommodate the construction of the trail.

Will there be any changes to the number of lanes on Gregory Street?
Yes. East of Cottage Avenue, there are currently two lanes in the eastbound direction and one lane in the westbound direction. This will be changed to create one lane in the eastbound direction, one bi-directional left turn lane, and one lane in the westbound direction.
