Council Passes Three Resolutions Related to Underpass

The Normal Town Council passed three resolutions May 20 which move the Town closer to being able to bid out the Underpass project:

1. Union Pacific Railroad - allows for the construction and future maintenance of the proposed pedestrian underpass to occur on railroad property and signifies formal approval from the railroad for the project
2. CIRBN - ensures the Town will remain operational during construction by relocating fiber utility lines
3. Ameren - temporarily relocates overhead power lines currently located in the proposed area of construction

Bidding for this project is expected in Summer 2024, with construction anticipated to start in the Fall.
