North Ayrshire Place Profiles

To support the work of preparing an Evidence Report, six ‘Place Profiles’, one for each of North Ayrshire’s localities (Arran, Garnock Valley, Irvine, Kilwinning, North Coast and Cumbraes and the Three Towns) have been published. 

The profiles summarise the main social, cultural, environmental and economic features of each area and highlight community opinions and priorities gathered through a range of recent engagement activities. We are keen for your feedback on the Place Profiles. The introduction to each profile asks four questions on how comprehensive the information is; where more evidence may be required and whether there are other community plans or consultations we have missed. 

The Evidence Report is the first stage in preparing North Ayrshire’s third Local Development Plan. Evidence informs what to plan for, before the Proposed Plan looks at where development should take place. We will be finalising the Evidence Report over the next few months. It will provide a summary of what the evidence means for the plan and be informed by the views of those who will be affected by the plan and involved in its implementation.
