East Alley Wall Replacement

The Village of North Palm Beach will soon begin an important infrastructure improvement project to remove and replace the aging East Alley wall, which backs up to residents’ backyards. The current wall is deteriorating and must be safely removed and rebuilt to maintain neighborhood security and appearance.

Planned Improvements Include:

  • Tear down of the existing failing wall
  • Installation of a new, structurally sound wall in its place
  • Use of a temporary fence to keep backyards enclosed during construction
  • Demolition and reconstruction will occur in sections to minimize disruption

What This Means for Residents:

  • Before work can start, all residents MUST remove any fencing, lights, plants, decorations, or other items within 7 feet of the existing wall to prevent damage.
  • Pets: Please keep pets inside while work is taking place to ensure their safety.
  • Temporary Fence: Once the old wall is removed, a temporary fence will be installed to keep your backyard secure until the new wall is complete.
  • Noise & Activity: You may notice increased noise and activity in the alley during demolition and reconstruction.

Construction is estimated to take approximately 180 days and will occur in sections to help minimize disruption:

• Section 1: Atlantic Alley South to Lighthouse Drive
• Section 2: Lighthouse Drive to Anchorage Drive
• Section 3: Anchorade Drive to Yacht Club Drive

Portions of the alley will be closed while work is underway. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use US Highway 1 as a detour.
