Feedback - Walking around Malton and Norton
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to complete our survey about walking around Malton and Norton. The aim of the survey was to understand your views on how we can improve signage to and from Wentworth Street and Waterlane Car Park. Your feedback and detailed comments will directly support the short and long-term signage improvement goals.

Overall, we had a positive response to the proposals that we have suggested, and we will continue to move forward with these. We found your suggestions on the following areas very helpful, and this is what we have done in response:
Signage for pedestrians:
- From the responses we understand that larger and improved signage for pedestrians is needed, but we need to strike a careful balance to ensure that we do not create excess visual pollution in Malton. We have removed a number of excess signs and added in new and improved versions where possible.
- Works have commenced to improve and renovate the existing fingerposts and include new larger wayfinding signage for pedestrians via safe and sensible routes.
Signage for vehicles:
- Feedback has highlighted that any new signage for vehicles needs to be consistent and outline the nature of the car park, whether that be long/short stay.
- Your feedback has told us that it would be helpful to have further information on the sign that features its suitability for camper vans and electric vehicles.
