2017 Project 3 - Intersection – Crosstown/Peachtree Parkway

**Status: In progress
Location: Crosstown @ Peachtree Pkwy
Current Project Budget: $3,000,000

Project Description

Crosstown Rd. serves as an East/West arterial roadway serving the Braelinn Village retail center, many residential neighborhoods, and as an alternative connector to HWY 54 and Fayette County. The average daily traffic at the intersection exceeds 10,400 vehicles per day. The intersection lacks adequate right turn lanes.

During peak hours, the intersection of Crosstown and Peachtree Parkway often becomes congested. To alleviate traffic congestion, the project will add two right-turn lanes on Crosstown Rd. (eastbound and westbound) to enhance traffic flow during the peak hours of the day.

February 2025 Progress Update

The contractor is working to finalize the 100% design for a roundabout to bid out for construction. We are also finalizaing the small amount of property that will need to be acquired near Regions Bank to start the acquistion process of that land before we bid the project out. Staff is also reaching out to Arbor Terrace for a possible rear entrance to their facility and has also had dicussions with the neighborhoods around this area.
