2017 Project 8: New Path Connection – Peachtree East Shopping Center

Status: In progress
Location: East Peachtree City
Proposed Project Year: 2017
Original Project Budget: $88,000

Project Description

New path connecting Robinson Ct. to Publix East Retail Center without crossing HWY 54.

June 2024 Update

This project is currently on hold until the 2023 SPLOST 30 is completed.

December 2023 Progress Update

The City has contracted with an engineering firm to design this path connection. Several different path location alternatives have been drawn up and evaluated for cost-effectiveness, ability to be permitted, and constructability. This particular path is unusually complex due to several factors including Georgia Department of Transportation restrictions, private gravesites, power easements, and drainage issues.

Currently, right-of-way negotiations are in progress with private property owners and the drainage concept design has been completed. At this point, it is an estimated cost of ~$1.3 Million to complete this project. The consultant is working to finalize drainage plans and construction plans along with right-of-way acquisition. June 2024 Update: This project is currently on hold until the 2023 SPLOST 30 is completed.

SPLOST Actuals Total: $61,149.15

SPLOST Funds Remaining: $26,850.85
