Riverton Trolley Park - Parking Lot Improvements

Project Overview

Located at 822 Riverside St, at the intersection of Riverside Street with Forest Avenue, Riverton Trolley Park consists of 19 acres running along approximately 900 feet of Presumpscot River frontage. The site includes a wooded park bisected by several ravines, a wildflower meadow, a natural spring, a baseball field and a network of meandering footpaths. Previous completed components of the Riverton Trolley Park Project include the mountain biking skills course and wayfinding system which opened to the public in May 2025. A pollinator meadow with beehives has been established during the previous project phase.

Planned improvements for Phase two include:

  • A newly paved parking lot with stormwater enhancements.
  • New signage and pedestrian walkways.
  • New ADA compliant access routes from Riverside Street, the parking lot, and to the existing public restroom.
  • New wayfinding signage.
  • A designated food truck space.
  • New amenities including bike rack spaces and a drinking fountain.
