Construction Update #1

The former site of Kiwanis Pool has been bustling with activity and change over the past two months. Demolition of the old bathhouse and pool took place in April and was quickly followed with excavation and earth moving to prepare for the construction of the new community pool facility. The work in May focused on the installation of Rammed Aggregate Piers and perparation for the instalaltion of drainage infrastructure and the pool and building foundations.

A few days ahead of the building foundation installation, the Portland Parks Conservancy held a ceremonial "ground breaking" event on the site to celebrate this important milestone in the construction of Portland's only outdoor community pool. Check out the details at this Parks Newsflash.
