Community Investment in Marine Park

Building Better Parks Through Local Investment

Welcome to Marine Park.
The Borough of Red Bank is committed to being transparent about how public funds are invested. This amenity is one of several improvements made possible through the Borough's Recreation Trust Fund, which receives dedicated local cannabis transfer tax revenue.

Why is cannabis tax revenue being used?
In June 2024, the Mayor and Council unanimously adopted an ordinance dedicating 2% of local cannabis transfer tax revenue to the Borough's Recreation Trust Fund. Rather than directing these revenues into the Borough's general operating budget, they are reserved exclusively for enhancing parks, recreation facilities, and public spaces for the benefit of the entire community.
This approach allows Red Bank to invest in quality recreational amenities while ensuring these locally generated funds remain dedicated to projects that improve residents' quality of life.

Investing in Our Community
Revenue from the Recreation Trust Fund helps support projects such as:
• Modern playgrounds
• Accessible recreational amenities
• Park improvements
• Community gathering spaces
• Outdoor wellness opportunities
• Future parks and recreation projects
Every improvement is designed to create welcoming, safe, and accessible spaces where residents of all ages can gather, play, exercise, and connect.

Why Marine Park?
Marine Park has long been one of Red Bank's signature public spaces. The revitalization of the park reflects years of planning, community input, and the Borough's commitment to investing in places that serve residents today and for generations to come.
This project was made possible through a combination of grants, Borough investments, partnerships, and dedicated Recreation Trust Fund resources.

Our Commitment to Transparency
We believe residents should know how public dollars are invested.
The Borough remains committed to responsible financial stewardship, transparent government, and reinvesting local revenues into projects that strengthen our community.
Thank you for helping us build a healthier, more vibrant Red Bank.
