Arena Rehabilitation

The Town is undertaking a critical initiative to replace and upgrade key components of our community arena, including the refrigeration piping, arena slab, and aging arena boards. These essential improvements will ensure the long-term functionality, safety, and quality of this well-loved facility, which serves as a hub for sports, recreation, and community gatherings. The infrastructure updates are necessary as current systems have reached the end of their lifespan, making proactive investments vital to avoid service interruptions and maintain this important space for residents and visitors alike.Thanks to funding secured in 2025 through the Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund, the Town has collaborated with the Ministry of Sport to develop a carefully planned construction schedule that minimizes disruption by aligning with the arena's off-season. Construction is anticipated to start in April 2026 and be completed by September 2026, ensuring that winter programs, such as hockey, are not affected. Please note that some summer programs and events may be cancelled or relocated during this time.
