Petawawa Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) Program

The Town of Petawawa has successfully completed its Business Retention and Expansion (BR+E) initiative—an important economic development project supported in part by funding from the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.

This project engaged directly with local business owners and operators to better understand their needs, challenges, and future plans. Through in-depth interviews, surveys, and conversations, the initiative gathered valuable insights from across Petawawa’s business community.

These findings will help identify priority areas for action and support the ongoing growth of the local economy. The results are being used to shape updates to the Town’s Economic Development Action Plan, ensuring that the voices of local businesses are at the forefront of decision-making.

The project was led by the Town of Petawawa Economic Development Department. Phoenix Van Hoof, a Petawawa resident and Sprott School of Business graduate, served as the BR+E Coordinator interviewing 51 businesses.

The Town of Petawawa thanks all participating businesses for their time, input, and ongoing commitment to the community.
