Water Treatment Plant - Roof Replacement

A section of roof at the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) has become a critical concern following significant leaks that occurred in 2024. In response to these issuees, the Town engaged Garland Canda Inc. to conduct a thermal scan and roof analysis to determine the extent of the damage. The investiagtion identified several deficiencies, indicating that this section of the roof has reached the end of it's service life and now requires full replacement. It is important to note that this project specifically pertains to the older section of the roof, as indicated in the report, and does not include the more recent expansion.

Given the essential nature of the WTP to municipal operations, staff are recommending a roof replacement for the identified section to prevent further water infiltration and to safeguard critical infrastructure. The replacement will address all deficiencies identifie in the Garland report, ensuring a durable roofing system, that will protect the plant for many years to come. The total estimated cost for the project is $200,000. This investment will mitigate the risk of further structural damage, reduce potential for operating disruptions, and avoid more costly emergency repairs in the future.
