Banting Drive Rehabilitation

Minor rehabilitation of a portion of Banting Drive from HWY 17/MTO property line to Hillcrest Avenue. The selection of Banting is based on cost, condition and criticality. Banting Drive is a high traffic, main collector road with a pavement condition index (based on the 2021 condition assessment) of 57 or poor.

In order to explore options for transferring this section of Banting Drive into the County of Renfrew road network, Town staff are currently in discussions with County representatives to establish whether Banting Drive meets the County's requirements for inclusion. Once a commitment is secured, the Town would move forward with planned improvements to bring Banting Drive up to County road standards, including adherence to required specifications for pavement structure, signage, and safety measures. If this section of Banting Drive does not meet the County’s criteria for inclusion in its road network, Town staff will report back to Council to provide an update on the discussions and propose an alternative strategy.
