Hammond Court - Reconstruction
As part of the ongoing inflow and infiltration (I&I) investigation and sewer main relining plan staff have identified Hammond Court as an area that needs to be immediately addressed. The current construction of Hammond Court has the road surface water draining into a manhole at the end of the cul-de-sac through two inlets along the curb (see images below). This surface water drainage system results in a significant contribution to the Town’s ongoing I&I issues. Furthermore, the sewer main relining investigation has determined, through CCTV footage, that the condition of the sewer main and structures within the project area is poor and is a candidate for full depth reconstruction. Staff also investigated the condition of the water main along Hammond Court and determined that it is in good condition, is located outside of the roadway, and therefore does not need to be replaced.
Lastly, this project will include installing the water and sewer services to the two properties that were recently sold at the corner of Hammond Court and Ridge Road. This will include an extension of the current sewer main along Hammond Court towards Ridge Road, to easily allow for the service connections to be installed.
