Town of Renfrew Master Servicing Plan
The Town of Renfrew Master Servicing Plan (MSP) update provides a long-term, systems-level assessment of the Town’s potable water distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, and stormwater management systems to address existing servicing needs and to accommodate anticipated growth to the 2044 planning horizon and beyond.
The MSP Update replaces the Town’s 2017 Master Servicing Plan and reflects updated infrastructure information, growth forecasts, regulatory requirements, and current municipal engineering best practices.
The MSP Update has been prepared to support municipal decision-making, capital planning, and development review, while satisfying the requirements of Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) Master Planning Process, undertaken using Approach 1.
Study Area and Growth Context
The MSP Update addresses the Town’s urban serviced area, including existing development lands, designated growth areas within the Town’s municipal boundary, and anticipated external growth contributions from adjacent municipalities, including the Township of Horton and the Township of Admaston/Bromley. A single growth scenario extending to 2044 was assessed, consistent with the Town’s Official Plan and supporting growth-related studies. At full build-out of the planning horizon, significant increases in population and employment are anticipated, necessitating strategic upgrades to municipal servicing infrastructure to maintain required levels of service.
