Entertainment District Focus Group

The Entertainment District Focus Group is a City Council initiative led by Councilman Phazhon Nash, to assess Berglund Center challenges, objectively review the City's Entertainment District proposal, and discuss potential community concerns. Meeting monthly over five months beginning January 2026, the focus group will listen, share perspectives, and explore ideas for the site’s potential redevelopment. These meetings will be made available for viewing on the City's YouTube page.

The current proposal envisions transforming the Berglund Center complex into a casino-anchored entertainment district, including meeting space, restaurants, a hotel, a parking deck, and upgrades to both the civic center arena and performing arts theatre.

Resident, business owner, and community stakeholder voices are essential to this process. Transparency and community involvement are at the center of this effort, with opportunities for broader public feedback throughout.

Questions or comments for the focus group may be submitted to EntertainmentDistrict@roanokeva.gov
