Wiley Drive Low Water Bridge Replacement Project

The Wiley Drive Low Water Bridge Replacement Prject (VDOT UPC: 122898 VDOT State Project Number: U000-128-509) will replace the existing Wiley Drive Low Water Bridge, which carries one-way vehicle traffic and the Roanoke River Greenway over the Roanoke River. The new bridge will be built in the same location as the current structure.

The existing bridge floods about five to six times each year and often collects significant accumulation of drift and debris during high water. Replacing the bridge will help ensure safer, more reliable travel for people walking, biking and driving along the greenway corridor. It will also reduce the maintenance work and costs associated with repeated flooding. Additionally, this project will improve recreational access and fish passage.
