Microtransit Study Conducted in Sanford

The City of Sanford worked with the N.C. Department of Transportation's Integrated Mobility Division and AECOM Infrastructure Consulting Firm to study the feasibility of and need for microtransit options in Sanford.

Sanford residents, employers, community college students, and COLTS riders participated a survey to identify mobility challenges and to explore addressing those challenges with a microtransit service.

Community stakeholders participated in interviews that provided invaluable insights and helped shaped the recommendations put forth in the study.

The study was completed and presented to Sanford City Council in December of 2022.
